The Camp Experience

During any Beulah Beach mealtime, you will not only eat as much as your stomach can fathom and get hydrated for the next wild activity, but you may find yourself dancing to “Sweet Caroline,” laughing until your face turns red at your table, jamming to your favorite Beulah Beach tunes, or chanting your team name at the top of your lungs. You will not only have a blast eating and playing in the cafeteria, but you will also have the opportunity to serve our cafeteria workers by saying “Thank You” often, spraying down your table, and collectively cleaning up after your counseling group and others. We also work with families to accommodate specialized dietary plans.

These activity blocks are designed for camp to be fun, interactive, and will create memorable moments for campers. Blocks are generally made up of a select group of campers with a particular interest. Each camp offers a different assortment of activities based on its theme and age group. Each of these blocks are led and facilitated by our exceptional leadership team, counselors and crew workers. A morning block could include water activities on the lake, sports zone in the field, creative arts in the Center, or adventure zones in the woods. Camptivities are large group activities designed for every person to participate. Camptivities could include scavenger hunts, large beach challenges, pool parties, and other themed entertainment. BBU is a combination of all the eclectic activities offered at Beulah to help campers have a blast developing skills in areas of interest ranging from dancing and acting to water games and adventure.

Going hard at camp is tough stuff! In order for our campers and staff to enjoy camp and thrive until parents arrive at the end of the week, we designed BBT to be a restful time for campers. Campers will chill in our Center to watch a movie, play some low key games, chat with one another, until they head to clean up their rooms and prepare for the busy afternoon.

Free time is our way of giving campers an opportunity to do specific activities at camp with their counselors and friends. Each day offers different free time activities such as the Slip ‘n Slide, Giant Swing, Zip Line, Tubing, Swim Time at the Beach/Pool, Gym Time, or Snak Shak. While campers have the luxury of getting to choose from the specific activities offered on a given day, each of our activities are highly supervised and led by our summer staff.

One of the things that makes Splash Camp so special is a trip to Kalahari. During the middle of the week, we load up buses in the morning and head to Kalahari Water Park for the day! Campers are supervised the entire time and remain with their counseling group while in the park.

This is our chance to give a picture of what the day will hold. During the Beulah Show, we will get pumped up, have some fun interactions, and learn the main topic of the day. Morning Club follows the Beulah Show and is designed to help our counseling groups spend some time bonding with each other and engaging with the daily theme.

Each night before the Mix, campers gather on the bluff overlooking Lake Erie. Sunset typically involves some friendly competition, group chants, group bonding, story-sharing, and prayer for others around the world.

Everything in a day leads to a MIX! It is undeniably exciting, challenging, hype, and fun. We dance hard, compete playfully, laugh until we can’t breath, worship freely, discover relevant truths, and respond significantly in an experience that can only be had at Beulah Beach. Each Mix uses music, games, videos, costumes, crowd participation, humor and more to create a sensational time that honors God and engages campers to encounter Him!

Afterdark is the name for our evening activities. Depending on the night of the week, most camps will have an Afterdark experience! Because High Schoolers need to eat later and party harder so each night, High School Camp plans specific events and parties designed specifically for our High School campers. We can’t wait to reveal what we have planned this summer for AfterDark!

We often learn and grow from processing together. Our daily debrief is a chance for groups to talk and reflect on camp. It’s easy to go through a week so fast without pausing to debrief. We build this into each night to give campers to push pause and glean from their entire camp experience with others in their counseling group.
