1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

1. Prayer

Prayer is our way of communicating with God. Prayer is more than just asking God for things you would like him to to do, it is also a way to praise and thank God for what He has done.

2. Journaling

Journaling can be a powerful way to help process your day to day walk with the Lord. You can journal you’re feeling, what the Lord has been teaching you or even just your prayers.

3. Gratitude

Gratitude is a powerful reminder of what Jesus did for us. It has been proven that gratitude and anxiety cannot exist in the brain at the same time. When we are grateful, we refocus on our attention on God.

Mark 10:45

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

1. Church

There are so many ways to serve at Church! You can serve on the set-up or clean-up team, on the tech team or even in the kids ministry for you older campers.

2. Community Opportunities

Every community has ways for people for volunteer. You can volunteer at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen, volunteer for a community clean-up day or even volunteer to mow people’s lawns.

3. Small ways to serve people

As we read in Mark, Jesus even came to serve and not be served. Service can be a way of life. You can serve people through small acts of kindness each day – hold the door open for someone, take care of their dishes or even pick up trash that wasn’t yours. When we serve, we show people Jesus!

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you the Day approaching.”

1. Find a youth group

A youth group is an excellent way to surround yourself with a group of same-aged, like-minded believers to purse Jesus alongside of! Youth groups are designed to develop personal and spiritual growth and cultivate a Christ-centered community.

2. Regularly attend Sunday services

Like attending youth group, attending church on Sunday morning. A lot of churches have programs for kids and teens to connect on Sunday mornings!

3. Surround yourself with friends who love Jesus

It’s important to surround yourself with people who Jesus and will encourage you in your walk with Him. Find friends at school, on sports team or other clubs who all know Jesus!
