High School Camp was an incredible blend of late nights, spiritual awakening, exhaustion, excitement, and changed lives! We want to share two stories of how God was clearly at work last week!

One counselor shares,

I had a camper who came in with a really difficult story. Throughout the week we struggled with some deep hurts and scars emotionally, spiritually, and physically. She opened up to our group on Crosswalk night. The girls came around her and we prayed for her that night. As we walked through the week, she continued to struggle. I was feeling discouraged on Thursday night, wondering if she experienced the love of Jesus this week. I talked to Leadership about it and was encouraged to say the prayer ‘God I give everyone and everything to you.’

On Friday morning, this camper who had significantly struggled all week, looked at me and said, “I took a step of making Jesus the Lord of my life!” She told me throughout the week as people prayed over her, she felt peace like she had never felt peace before, and she came to the conclusion that Jesus is the only one who can give her that peace. She never wanted it to leave her!

As they were packing up to leave, she comes tearing down the hallway saying, “I need to get baptized this morning! I want everyone to know that Jesus is the peace giver.” I was so ecstatic that Jesus took someone who was so hurting and so broken and did a complete 180 in her life. As we baptized her, she came up out of that water with tears in her eyes and she said, “This is the best thing that has ever happened to me!” I was so ecstatic to be able to watch God work through her that whole week.

Another counselor tells his story,

On Thursday night after the Mix, we were hanging out in our small group. The whole week the guys have been open about what’s been going on in their lives. One camper brought up that he thought about being baptized before, but never really knew how to do it. So I asked “Do you want to get baptized?” He was all for it! The next thing you know another camper said “I’ve been scared to get baptized as well, but I want to get baptized with him!” It was a supernatural thing where all the campers wanted to give their lives to Christ and be baptized. I had chills feeling the Holy Spirit in the room taking over saying “I want all of these kids to be children of God.”

For 4 of them, it was their first time giving their lives to Christ. The other 4 redeclared their lives to Christ saying they had drifted away but they wanted to make that change and take that step to be more like Jesus. So they all got baptized Friday morning together as a group. It was one of the most supernatural things I’ve ever seen in my life. It was awesome to see what God can do in such a short time!

Praise God for His amazing timing, His amazing plan, and His amazing purpose for Beulah Beach and this ministry!
