EDGE and EXTREME!!!

Monday was a FANTASTIC day for Edge and Extreme campers!

In the morning campers divided up into their respective groups and got down to business (having fun that is!) Edge campers started off strong with Man Club and Ladies Club.  The testerone was pumping as the Men of edge camp got down and dirty in the Man Pit! The boys had a ton of fun painting themselves and chasing each other down in the sand. The ladies of edge camp were keeping things EDGY during Ladies Club too! The girls were working on book marks, while watching none other than the Little Mermaid! Extreme Campers stepped things up a notch at the paintball course and Aquazone. Team Firehawks (David Kuhon), shared that they had a “BALL” playing paintball. The campers loved working together and some even loved getting hit!

After swimming, swinging and climbing during free time the campers moved over to the beach for beach games. Each group participated in a number of games trying to earn gnarly surf points! Counselors had fun as their campers got to cover them in sand, rocks and seaweed in “Bury Your Counselor.” Campers also played water polo and had canoe races in an attempt to get more gnarly surf points for their team!

Campers winded down the evening with some serious time. After a trip to the snack shack campers gathered on the bluff and began to prepare their hearts for the cross walk.  The boys of team “Keepin’ it Classy with Chris Massey” shared that they were really impacted by the Cross Walk and that they felt like it was really realistic. After walking through Jesus’s final days the campers ended in the Surf Shop with the MIX.

During the MIX Jesse Bassett talked about Jesus as Sanctifer, and the campers learned that… HE SAVED ME!

EDGE and EXTREME Camps Begins!!!

Sunday was a great day for our resident campers to dive right into Beulah Beach! Resident campers kicked off their week, the Beulah way, with a pool party.  The campers jumped right into making new friends and getting to know their counselors. Each team had their first opportunity to work together, by participating in swim races. After having tons of fun swimming around in the pool, the campers all hopped into the four foot portion of the pool and made a GIANT whirlpool!

After the pool party, the campers changed into dry clothes and split up into their counseling groups. Each of the teams went to the snack shack and then worked on their team name and cheer.

The EDGE/EXTREME campers ended the night with the sunset service and the MIX! It was so amazing watching the campers sing, dance and worship together!  At the mix campers were challenged to make a decision to have a week filled with God.

We can already tell that this week of resident camp is going to be the BEST WEEK EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Campers were Up and At 'em bright and early on Monday morning ready to dive into all the day had to offer! After breakfast and the morning sessions were through the water sports began. The splash campers got to choose from a variety of water sports to participate in, including wakeboarding, knee boarding, wave runners, fishing, kayaking, snorkelling, sailing and beachfront activities. The campers all had a blast out in the water learning more about their activity.

In one game the campers got to cover their counselors in sand and seaweed, and in another game campers raced canoes. Jake’s team got creative in burry your counselor and turned Jake into Wonder Woman!

Making a SPLASH!

SPLASH campers kicked off their week, the Beulah way, with a pool party!

Kissy Miller’s team “Kissy’s Hershey Kisses” got really creative as they worked together to create their team cheer!

The SPLASH campers ended the night with the sunset service and the MIX! Slash II campers said it was the best MIX ever! Rapper Nasa really got the campers pumped as he performed the Surf’s Up theme song. After an awesome concert, campers were encouraged by David Trainer to dive right in this week! After watching a clip from the Matrix, Campers where challenged to make a choice between the red M& M and the blue M&M. Choosing the blue M&M meant choosing to have a week at camp filled with fun, but choosing a red M&M meant choosing to have a week at camp that was filled with God (and lots of fun too!). It was so amazing to see each of the kids reach for the red M&M at the end of the night.

While the splash campers were diving in, Boot Camp Campers were getting tough! The Boot Campers started off with a challenge on the beach. They moved from the beach to the woods where they spent the night. The counsellors prepared a scavenger hunt, and the Boot Camp campers had to work for their tents.

It's waaaaaarm... and we're having fuuuuun!

It is HOT at Beulah Beach right now but that is not taking us away from having an incredible time here at camp! How can you not have a great time with 161 Boom and WakeJammers running around the grounds?!

Yesterday held a plethora of activities. WakeJammers enjoyed kneeboarding and waterskiing on a fairly calm lake. The girls had a SPA DAY while the men re-enacted the scene from Normandy with a water balloon, water pistol, USA vs. Ugasluvakookooskagun battle over the Lagoon. The Americans, without the help of the counselors, bonded together, formed their battle plan and captured the flag of the opponent! USA! USA! Today in Girl's Club - the girls were taught self-defense and decorated picture frames. The men engaged in a MANRACE that included buillding a Wacky Boat, making a bow and arrow and building a fire. EVERY TEAM FINISHED THE RACE, which was the ultimate goal of the whole group! All the men agreed that today was the Best Man Club so far!

After a blazin' hot afternoon, the campers all went to the pool to enjoy the OLYMPICS! It was hard to find one camper who wasn't either competing or cheering on their teammates in all sorts of Olympics competitions. We may even have the next Michael Phelps here!

Last night, we heard from Tyler Goens as he shared about Christ is our Sanctifer. Being saved isn't just a one time deal... it's a process of changing your life so that you can be more holy because it says in God's Word, "Be holy because I am Holy."

We ended the night with the always hilarious Senior High Talent Show. It would take years to describe the hilariousness that transpired over the night so we'll let your campers share it with you when you get them back on Friday! We're having a great week! Keeping thinking about and praying for us!

Another great day!

One thing can be said for certain; there is never a dull moment on the grounds of Beulah Beach camp! The campers started off their day with a rousing game of "Minute to Win It" while waiting in line for breakfast, and only continued to increase in excitement and energy throughout the day. Campers spent their first morning in "REALife." They watched the first portion of the movie "Soul Surfer," and then discussed the with their groups the themes that were presented in the movie.

Possibly one of the most anticipated events for Boom: Senior High Camp throughout the week is the time that is spent in Girl's Club, Man Club, and WakeJam. While the Wakejam campers dove into the water and participated in water sports, the guys and girls of BOOM split up and cruised into their activities. The guys showed off their masculinity by wrestling, tugging rope, and playing water polo at the beach. The girls, on the other hand, had a little lady fun in the sun over at the pool!

After a fun packed morning, the campers ate lunch, relaxed during FOB, cleaned their rooms and before they knew it, they were off to free time. They had a number of activities to choose from. Following free time three different options were given. The campers could have chosen to paintball, play sports, or learn about worship.

Last night also held the CrossWalk, a live demonstration of Jesus' last hours on earth. Campers were challenged to get rid of the sin in their lives and after the MIX, the men and the ladies headed to separate campfires to share what God is doing in their lives... and HE IS DOING ALOT!

Can't wait for more!

BOOM and WAKEJAM OPENING DAY

As the temperatures are rising, so is the enthusiasm that your campers are showing here at camp! Sometimes, people come to camp with their "Cool Cards." It's the card that says, "I'm too cool to dance. I'm too cool to jump around. I'm too cool to swim, cheer, and look like an idiot." Your campers pulled them all out and RIPPED THEM UP! We're not here at camp to be cool, we are here to have the time of our lives with each other, listening intently to what God wants for us this week!

We started out the week with a MIX last night. David Trainer brought a message on Diving In to the week. The campers had two choices to choose from... a week full of fun activities or a week focused on trying to find out what God wants for them in these 5 days here. It's going to a blast either way, but campers were challenged to really intentially give their week to the Lord and ask Him to do with it whatever He wants.

To see the campers all lifting their hands and singing out to the Lord last night was unbelievable. We're in for a great week here at Beulah Beach! More to come!

A Splash in the Savannah!

Wednesday was a great day to be a Splash camper at Beulah Beach

Wednesday was the big day that campers ventured out to Kalahari Water Park in Sandusky, Ohio! The campers loved every minute of riding down the slides and splashing in the water at Kalahari! A few of the most popular attractions were the blue toilet bowl and the zip coaster. JT and Sebastian said that they had a fun ride on the zipcoaster. They reported that they were under the minimum weight requirements, and when after they went up the hill they did not go down, but instead they floated through the air for awhile. JT said that when they did land it hurt!  The campers did not take it easy on their counselors on Wednesday. Jake Deschler’s team KSLW worked Jake hard playing basketball in the pool, and team Parakeet caught Joel Trainer taking a power nap! When asked how they would describe their day at Kalahari all of the campers said “AWESOME!”

After a day of playing hard at Kalahari, Splash campers really worshipped hard Wednesday night! The campers have really been opening up their hearts to God this week, and they came into the MIX ready to worship on Wednesday night. Slash campers were really challenged by Ralph Trainer’s message about God as healer. This week the Splash campers set a goal to raise $1000 to provide security for girls who had been rescued for the sex trafficking industry. The campers were all amazed when Joel came back with the total amount they had raised! It was dead on, the campers gave exactly $1000!

Splash Tuesday!

Campers got an early start on Tuesday morning, diving right into their water activities! Some campers went to the pool for scuba diving, other campers participated in went to the beach for beach activities and other campers went out on the lake to drive wave runners and ride the waves on the wakeboards. The campers on lake activities sure had a rough ride on the waves on Tuesday morning! Wave runner drivers said that they had tons of fun learning to maneuver the wave runners the waves and the obstacle course.

On Tuesday afternoon, the campers participated in the Beulah Olympics at the pool. Each team participated in a number of Olympic events inside and outside the pool. The events included Frisbee and swimming relays. The campers also made sure to have fun in the pool as they were waiting for each of their events to take place. After a little fun in the sun, the hungry Olympians had a picnic supper out by the pool!

As always at Beulah we ended our day strong with Sunset and the MIX! Campers always have a blast singing, dancing and worshipping with their friends. Many of the campers from Jake Deshler’s team were so impacted by the message that they stuck around the Surf Shop after the service to pray together.

Campers were Up and At 'em bright and early on Monday morning ready to dive into all the day had to offer! After breakfast and the morning sessions were through the water sports began. The splash campers got to choose from a variety of water sports to participate in, including wakeboarding, knee boarding, wave runners, fishing, kayaking, snorkeling and beachfront activities. The campers all had a blast out in the water learning more about their activity. All of the campers who went fishing with Jonny Roberts really had a great time, even though they didn't have much luck catching fish!  Jacob Sidle shared that he learned how to cast different types of rods and how to put a worm on the hook.

Splash campers made sure to take a break from their sports classes to have some fun with their counseling groups on the beach! The groups divided up and played a number of fun beach games.
