The 30th of every month is one of my favorite days every month!

I started a Bible Reading plan a few months ago. It's pretty simple. I just read five Psalms and one chapter of Proverbs every day. I go through each book every month. In addition to this, I choose one other book to study for that month as well. It has been going so well, and I have to say - the 30th is a favorite! I get to read Psalm 146-150!

Have you ever read through these Psalms? Have you ever prayed through them?! They are so rich!

"His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love." Psalm 147:11

That is such a wonderful thought for me today. God doesn't delight in the things that I have or the things I can do. It honestly doesn't matter if I am the best in the world or the worst in the world at whatever I'm attempting, God doesn't delight in that. Instead, his delight is in those who FEAR the Lord. It forces me to ask myself if I'm basing my worth on my success at things I do on earth or if I simply want to fear the Lord and put my hope in his unfailing love. If I put my faith and hope in God and his love, I will NEVER be disappointed.

I have lost at EVERYTHING that I've ever tried. Even the things I'm really good at, I have lost at least once. God has never lost. He has never failed me. He's always there. The Lord always delights in me. God is soo good to me. Read Psalms 146-150 today and just praise him!

This past summer at camp. We had campers go through a 30 hour "TRIP" trip to Thailand. When they went home on Friday, they were challenged to complete the 30 day "CHALLENGE" and many of campers jumped in on the action and completed the second part. Today mark's the start to the 30 week "JOURNEY", which will lead all the way up until next summer at camp. This is all a part of Beulah Beach's ministry philosophy: We are not into creating a 5-day spiritual "high" experience. We are into 365 day, discipleship-focused, family ministry.

As a part of this JOURNEY, campers will be asked to read one chapter of the Bible every day, Monday-Saturday. After 30 weeks, everyone will have read the 180 most important chapters of the Bible! So Week One is here... get started NOW!
